Li Wei's hand instinctively went to the hilt of his knife. "You think we'll accept that?"

Han's eyes glinted with a sadistic delight. "You're already lost, Li Wei. Your world has crumbled, and there's no way back."

The tension was palpable as Xiao Zhi stepped between them. "We have a choice," he said, his voice barely above a whisper. "We can fight, or we can work with them. But we must be smart."

Li Wei looked at Xiao Zhi, seeing the hope in his eyes. "Alright," he said, his voice filled with a newfound determination. "We'll work with them, but we'll do it on our terms."

Their deal with Han was a Faustian bargain. They would have to spy on the rebellion, providing them with intelligence that would turn the tide of the impending conflict. In return, they would be allowed to live, and their love would be protected from the colony's oppressive regime.

As the elite guards burst into the room, Li Wei and Xiao Zhi were forced to fight for their lives. Their fight was fierce, but ultimately futile. The elite guards were too numerous, and their weapons too powerful.

In the end, it was Xiao Zhi who made the ultimate sacrifice. He tackled Han, buying Li Wei enough time to escape. As the elite guards moved in to finish off Xiao Zhi, Li Wei slipped away, his heart shattered.
