Whispers of the Moonlit Night

The moon hung low in the sky, casting an ethereal glow over the dense forest. In the heart of this ancient woodland, a clearing revealed a solitary cabin, its windows aglow with the warmth of a hearth. Inside, two figures sat huddled together, their breath visible in the cold air.

Elios’s heart raced. He had felt the shift in Linaris’s demeanor, the tension that had been building since Therion’s arrival. He knew that his Alpha was in pain, and he was helpless to do anything about it.

“I will not let you hurt him,” Elios declared, stepping forward. “Not if I have to fight you for it.”

Before Therion could respond, a sudden gust of wind swept through the room, and the temperature dropped. The hearth’s flames flickered and died, leaving the cabin in darkness.

“Linaris, stay close,” Elios whispered, his voice barely audible.

Elios nodded, his heart breaking as he turned to leave. As he stepped through the door, he heard Linaris’s voice call out to him, a final plea.
